Hyderabad: The Telangana government has decided to introduce a detailed master plan for the Medaram Jathara, the biennial tribal festival celebrated in the state. This plan is designed to enhance the infrastructure and improve the overall experience for attendees with permanent facilities.
Key initiatives outlined in the plan include:
Expansion of existing altars: This will allow for a more serene and organised darshan for the millions of devotees who visit during the festival.
Construction of permanent cottages: These will offer a stable accommodation solution for pilgrims, moving away from the temporary setups used previously.
Implementation of all planned works before the 2026 Jathara: The aim is to have all new facilities ready in time for the next festival, ensuring that devotees can enjoy the benefits of these improvements from the outset.
This master plan underscores the government’s dedication to not only enhancing the pilgrimage experience at Medaram Jathara but also to safeguarding the cultural essence of this significant tribal gathering.
