People in large numbers and cadre of various political parties continued to pay tributes to senior Congress leader and Erode (East) MLA E.V.K.S. Elangovan at his residence located on Thirumagan E.V.R. Road in Erode on Saturday. The leader passed away at a private hospital in Chennai on December 14, 2024.

As news of his demise spread, Congress cadre assembled at the residence and paid floral tributes to his portrait. They recalled his contributions as a Union Minister, as MP and an MLA, ans well as his outspoken nature. An inconsolable cadre remarked that his death is an irreparable loss not only to his family, but also to the Congress party and the country.

Cutting across party lines, functionaries and cadre of various political parties, traders and the public paid tributes to the leader. His portrait was displayed at many locations in the constituency as condolences poured in.
