WARANGAL: The district superintendent of police, P. Shabarish, met families of long-standing Maoist leaders on Thursday at the Mulugu police headquarters, urging them to encourage their relatives to surrender. The meeting included family members of prominent Maoist state committee members such as Thakkalapalli Vasudeva Rao alias Ashanna, Bada Chokka Rao alias Damodhar, Koyyada Sambaiah alias Azad, Pulsum Padma alias Gangakka, Isam Arjun alias Raghupathi, and Sadhanapalli Chandu alias Chandranna.
In an effort to integrate Maoist leaders and their members into mainstream society, SP Shabarish invited their families to discuss the benefits of surrendering to the Mulugu police. He assured them that the government would offer rewards to any Maoists who choose to lay down their arms. Additionally, the government would provide support through rehabilitation schemes and other forms of assistance to facilitate their transition.
During the meeting, SP Shabarish, along with Mulugu DSP Ravinder, distributed fruits and clothes to the families of the Maoist leaders and members, fostering a gesture of goodwill.
