Vadodara: Maharashtra beat Punjab in semi-finals of Vijay Hazare Trophy. Maharashtra won the match in Vadodara by 70 runs. After losing the toss, Maharashtra scored 175 runs for the loss of six wickets. Arshin Kulkarni’s century (107) led the team to a respectable score. In reply, Punjab were bowled out for 205 in 44.4 overs. Mukesh Chaudhary who took three wickets destroyed Punjab. Arshdeep Singh was the top scorer with 49 runs.

Earlier, Arshin Kulkarni’s century led Maharashtra to a respectable score. Arshdeed returned captain Ruturaj Gaekwad (5) and Siddesh Veer (0) in his first spell. Later, Arshin and Ankit Bawne (60) added 145 runs. But Naman Dhir gave Punjab the break through by dismissing Ankit. Rahul Tripathi (15) and Kasi (20) who came next could not shine. Immediately after completing the century, Kulkarni also returned. He faced 137 balls and hit 14 fours.
Nikhil Naik’s (52 not out off 29 balls) resistance led Maharashtra to a respectable score. There were three sixes and fours each. Naik’s innings. Bachav (20) remained unbeaten.
