Swami Vivekananda was born on 12 January 1863 in Kolkata. His real name was Narendra Nath Dutt. Later, he gave up worldly attachments and took sannyasa and became a disciple of Guru Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. He founded Ramakrishna Math, Ramakrishna Mission and Vedanta Society. In 1893, he represented India and Hindutva in the World Religion Conference held in Chicago, America.
Swami Vivekananda inspired the youth to become self-reliant and have faith within themselves. He said,
“Arise, awake and stop not until the goal is achieved.”
Vivekananda’s birth anniversary is celebrated as Youth Day. In such a situation, today gives us an opportunity to remember the thoughts of Swami Vivekananda with best wishes on Youth Day.
