After setting the stage alight in Ahmedabad with an unforgettable performance, Coldplay‘s Chris Martin took a moment on Monday (January 27) to visit the Maha Kumbh Melaaccompanied by his girlfriend, actress Dakota Johnson. A video of the couple has since gone viral on the internet.
Following the concert in Ahmedabad on January 26, the pair were spotted arriving at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj today. A viral video on social media, shared by ANI, shows the couple in a car, greeted by excited onlookers. Chris Martin could be seen radiating joy, engaging playfully with fans and waving his hands at them, while Dakota also looked happy and vibrant. The singer even posed for some of the paparazzi with a victory pose from his car.

The Maha Kumbh Mela began on January 13 and will conclude on February 26. Pilgrims have gathered at the Triveni Sangam, the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the fabled Saraswati rivers, seeking to bathe in these holy waters for spiritual purification and the promise of ‘Moksha.’
Chris Martin’s band, Coldplay, just wrapped up five shows as part of their ‘Music of the Spheres World Tour‘ in India. The band first performed in Mumbai, before taking the stage for consecutive performances in Ahmedabad, hosted at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
According to Coldplay’s tweet, the band drew an impressive crowd of 134,000 on Sunday, marking a historic moment in Indian concert history—becoming the first ticketed concert to surpass 100,000 attendees. The largest previous gatherings were concerts by Diljit Dosanjh and Justin Bieber, which hosted 50,000 people each, while Yo Yo Honey Singh claimed a crowd of 200,000 for his 2020 performance in Haldia. However, these numbers are not independently confirmed.
Throughout their visit, Chris and Dakota immersed themselves in India’s rich culture. Their journey also included a trip to the revered Shri Babulnath Temple in Mumbai, which was widely shared on social media, along with footage from their visit to Siddhivinayak Templewhere Dakota was joined by Bollywood celebrities Sonali Bendre and Gayatri Joshi.
