Ameeesha patel recently opened up about losing out on ‘Chalte chalte‘(2003), starring Shah rukh khan and Rani Mukers. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, the actress revealed that she never actually rejected the film; she simply wasn’t informed about the offer.
Ameesha recalled an unexpected conversation with Shah Rukh Khan at a dubbing studio, where both were working on their respective films. During a casual encounter, Shah Rukh reportedly told her, “Let me show you the film you rejected.” Taken aback, Ameesha responded that she had no idea she was ever considered for the role.
She later learned from director Aziz Mirza that he and producer Juhi Chawla were keen on casting her, but her secretary had turned down the project, citing scheduling conflicts without ever consulting her. Patel admitted she was shocked by the revelation and expressed regret over missing the opportunity to work with Shah Rukh Khan. “I would have probably created a clone to do that film,” she said, emphasizing how much she wanted to collaborate with the superstar.
Following this incident, Ameesha made changes to her professional team, ensuring she would have full control over future career decisions. She also hinted at similar missed opportunities in the past, which she only discovered much later.
