Hyderabad:The Rangareddy district fast-track court on Wednesday sentenced a 20-year-old man to one year of rigorous imprisonment for stalking and harassing a minor girl. The accused, J. Sai Kiran, was arrested by Saroornagar police in 2020 for coercing the girl into a relationship and pressuring her to marry him.
According to police, Sai Kiran, a private employee from Medchal, befriended the victim, manipulated her into a relationship and repeatedly harassed her to marry him. A case was registered for stalking and sexually assaulting a minor. Following an investigation and the victim’s testimony, the court found him guilty.
The special judge sentenced Sai Kiran to one year of rigorous imprisonment, imposed a `2,000 fine, and awarded `50,000 compensation to the victim.
