JSW MG Motor launched the 2025 edition of the MG Astor SUV in India, adding new features to the Shine and Select variants. The company is positioning the vehicle as “India’s Most Advanced SUV” in its class. The updated models are available now, starting at INR 9.99 lakh ex-showroom.
The Shine variant now includes a panoramic sunroof and six speakers. MG Motor highlights this makes the Astor the only SUV in its segment with a panoramic sunroof under INR 12.5 lakh. The Select variant gains six airbags and premium ivory leatherette seats.
The 2025 Astor lineup (Sprint, Shine, Select, Sharp Pro, and Savvy Pro) offers several new features. These include ventilated front seats, a wireless charger, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and an auto-dimming IRVM. The i-SMART 2.0 system has been updated with an advanced user interface.
The availability of multiple powertrain options, including the 1.5 L MT, CVT, and 1.3 Turbo AT, provides flexibility for potential buyers. This allows customers to choose the powertrain that best suits their driving needs and preferences.
Equipped with latest technology
The i-SMART 2.0 system provides over 80 connected car features. The JIO Voice Recognition system allows voice commands for various functions. These include weather, cricket updates, calculator, clock, date/day information, horoscope, dictionary, news, and general knowledge.
MG emphasises the Astor’s advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). They state that it is the first SUV in India with a personal AI assistant and 14 Autonomous Level 2 features. These are powered by mid-range radars and a multi-purpose camera.
Safety features
MG Motor also highlights the Astor’s safety features, stating it has over 50. The company points to the premium interiors and panoramic sunroof as further enhancing the driving experience. The 2025 MG Astor will be available with 1.5 L MT and CVT and 1.3 Turbo AT powertrain options.
The company specifically emphasizes the Astor’s advanced technology features. The inclusion of the personal AI assistant and ADAS features are key differentiators in its segment. The updated i-SMART system and its connected car features also contribute to this technological focus.
