Anjana sukhani revealed she had a difficult experience on Salaam-e-ishq sets, calling director Nikkhil Advani ‘mean and harsh.’ She was unexpectedly asked to perform a kissing scene with Anil Kapoor without prior notice. Feeling powerless as a newcomer, she reluctantly agreed despite wanting to cry.
In conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Anjana shared that newcomers are often treated unfairly because others assume they won’t be held accountable. When asked if star kids face similar situations, she recalled being caught off guard with a kissing scene. She only found out about it moments before shooting in a nightclub-like setting, suggesting this wouldn’t happen to a star kid.
When asked why she didn’t question the missing scene in the script, Anjana said she wasn’t in a position to do so. She felt nervous and overwhelmed, with no one to discuss it with. She believes actors should be informed in advance about intimate scenes to mentally prepare, rather than being taken for granted as newcomers.
The actress also recalled feeling like she wanted to cry at that moment. She said that even a brief heads-up would have helped her prepare, but the sudden revelation left her unsure of how to react. She also pointed out that such treatment would never be given to a star kid.
Anjana admitted that she never confronted Nikkhil about the incident and still feels some bitterness over it. She speculated that refusing the scene might have led to her being removed from the film, leaving her with no choice but to comply.
Anjana emphasized that being new doesn’t mean one is willing to do anything. She felt it was unfair that she wasn’t given time to process the scene, adding that such treatment wouldn’t be given to a star kid. She believed she was taken advantage of because she lacked industry backing.
