Badass Ravikumar Movie Review
Announced in 2022 and filmed in locations across Oman and India, the movie wrapped production in 2024. The spin-off received mixed reviews from critics and audiences, though positive word-of-mouth has contributed to its strong box office performance. Social media users have praised the film, calling it a “full-on masala entertainer.”
One major advantage for the film is that it has already recovered its production costs. Made on a budget of Rs 20 crore, the movie has secured its investment through music sales and subsidies. The soundtrack has performed well, with its label paying a significant amount, while digital and satellite rights have also been sold.
In this musical action entertainer, Reshammiya reprises his role as Ravi Kumar, a maverick cop known for his unconventional methods. To authentically portray the ‘badass’ persona, Reshammiya underwent significant preparation. He adopted a distinctive look featuring long hair and dark glasses to embody the character’s rugged demeanor. Understanding the importance of impactful dialogue delivery, he focused on mastering the film’s unique, rhyming one-liners, ensuring they resonated with the intended dramatic flair. Additionally, Reshammiya immersed himself in the 1980s Bollywood style, which the film emulates, to capture the era’s essence and enhance his performance. His dedication to these aspects aimed to bring authenticity and depth to the character of Ravi Kumar.
