New Star Wars updates are coming for the Season of the Force special event at the Disneyland Resort. Galaxy’s Edge will be a hub of new arrivals such as the previously announced meet and greet with Luke Skywalker. The Jedi Master’s presence has officially been confirmed as a limited time pit stop on his journey across the stars along with new more fun—West Coast only, sorry to those going to Walt Disney World—by the Disney Parks Blog.
Additionally, Savi’s Workshop will be getting a new curated set of lightsaber “scraps,” swapping in for the previous pieces offered to build your own elegant weapon for a more civilized age. Starting May the Fourth, the immersive experience will get a new storyline for a limited time. In “Reclaimed and Reforged,” park guests will get to use “scraps that have been scavenged by different pirates throughout the galaxy” for their builds. It will be interesting to see if there will be pieces inspired by Disney+ series Skeleton Crew. As updates happen at Savi’s, we can help but wish that eventually the lightsaber training from Florida’s now-shuttered Galactic Starcruiser will become an offering as part of the experience, which already comes at an additional cost and requires reservations.

Arriving even sooner is a new projection addition to the fireworks show at the Black Spire Outpost’s main hub, where the Millennium Falcon sits. When “Fire of the Rising Moons” returns on March 28, the nighttime experience will depict legendary moments of Star Wars lore we know and love in “Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga.” Other areas of Batuu have limited viewing areas for the fireworks, which you can enjoy along with the selections of John Williams’ Star Wars score playing throughout the land.
And while, yes, there’s going to be new weird popcorn buckets and merch galore inside and outside of Galaxy’s Edge, we’re excited for Tomorrowland getting back into action with its Hyperspace Mountain overlay at Space Mountain. There’s also of course the original trip to a galaxy far, far away with “Star Tours;” we’re wondering if with Skeleton Crew’s popularity the attraction could potentially see a destination added with our favorite kid crew.
While Season of the Force is park-wide during the day for paying theme park guests, fans can also check out Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite, which is an after-hours party with special Star Wars experiences and character meet and greets (I met an Ewok last year!). It runs on select nights from April 8-May 6.
