Despite the controversy surrounding his YouTube show, India’s Got Latent, Samay Raina seems cool, as shown in a recent photo of him playing chess. He and panelists like Ranveer Allahbadia are facing legal action for alleged obscene remarks. The controversy escalated after an inappropriate question by Allahbadia went viral.
Samay is currently on his Unfiltered: North America Tour 2025, performed at Seattle’s Moore Theatre on February 9, 2025. A photo shared by Balraj Singh Ghai, a friend and judge, shows Raina playing chess backstage at the Moore Theatre, a venue known for hosting Jo Koy’s 2017 comedy special.
While on tour, Samay Raina is dealing with controversy over his show, due to Ranveer Allahbadia’s inappropriate remarks. This led to a police complaint against Raina, Allahbadia, and fellow judges for allegedly promoting obscenity. Allahbadia’s question about watching or participating in parents’ intimate activity sparked outrage. Calls for the show’s ban and a police investigation followed. Allahbadia has since apologized, while Raina has not commented.
High Court advocate Satyam Surana has filed a formal complaint with Mumbai Police against Samay Raina and his India’s Got Latent panelists. In a statement to ANI, Surana condemned the incident: “The video that went viral shows Samay Raina, Ranveer Allahbadia, and others making explicit comments. This content disturbs Indian sensibilities. Legal action is necessary to address such behaviour.”
