Hyderabad:A 23-year-old man died by suicide at his residence in Khanamet in Madhapur on Sunday night.
According to Madhapur inspector D. Krishna Mohan, the deceased has been identified as S.M. Arvind, a degree student of a private college. He had reportedly become addicted to online gaming and had even started investing money.
“During this time, he lost around `2 lakh to online gaming and betting. On the day he took the step, he had lost `50,000. We suspect that he was upset over this and died by suicide,” the Inspector said.
Arvind had apparently also tried discussing this with his parents, who consoled him. “However, he later felt disoriented and started gambling again,” the Inspector said.
He was residing in a rented apartment in Khanamet with his parents and a sibling. After learning of his suicide, his parents shifted him to a government hospital, where the doctors declared him dead.
