Nandamuri Balakrishna’s film Daaku Maharaaj is all set to hit OTT after its box-office success, but something has fans buzzing — Urvashi Rautela is nowhere to be seen on the announcement poster! On Sunday, Netflix posted the promotional poster on Instagram, revealing the film’s OTT release date. While Balakrishna, Bobby Deol, Pragya Jaiswal and Shraddha Srinath all made the cut, Urvashi was completely left out. The caption read, “We would just like to say pranaam maharaj. Watch Daaku Maharaaj, out on 21 Feb on Netflix!” Fans have been quick to react, and the hilarious reactions are already flooding social media.
Many took to the comments to troll Urvashi. One comment read, “India’s first woman to be removed from the poster of a 105+ cr film.” Another read, “The best promoter of the movie isn’t even in the poster.” “Same Daaku Maharaj associated with that diamond studded Rolex?” read a third one.
For the unversed, Urvashi Rautela has been in the headlines for her promotional tactic ever since the film released. Soon after the attack on Saif Ali Khan, in an interview with ANI, Urvashi drew criticism for flaunting her diamond ring, which many felt was tone-deaf given the gravity of the situation.
When asked about the incident where Saif Ali Khan was stabbed, Urvashi remarked, “It is very unfortunate. Now Daaku Maharaaj has crossed Rs 105 crore at the box office, and my mother gifted me this diamond-studded Rolex, while my father gifted me this mini watch on my finger, but we don’t feel confident wearing it outside openly. There is this insecurity that anybody can attack us. Whatever happened was very unfortunate.”
Pragya Jaiswal, who is a part of the film, had earlier slammed Urvashi Rautela for her promotional ways, calling her ‘reckless’.
