Hyderabad: Industries minister D Sridhar Babu on Saturday informed the Assembly that the government would set up a training academy for women entrepreneurs, and that it was working on finding solutions to ensure last mile connectivity for marketing of products made by women’s self-help groups (SHGs).
The minister was responding to a question from Congress MLAs Kasireddy Narayan Reddy, and Laxmi Kantha Rao on incentives for women entrepreneurs.
He also said that each of the 119 Assembly constituencies will have a mini-industrial park for women. “Flattened factories (multi-storeyed industrial complexes) will be set up for women’s SHGs in all the constituencies,” he said. To a query from BRS MLA Sabitha Indra Reddy on Foxconn recruiting only unmarried young women aged between 18 and 20 years, Sridhar Babu assured the member that there were no such restrictions.
