JSW MG Motor India has reported that nearly half of its electric vehicle (EV) sales in 2024 were driven by the South Indian market. According to data from VAHAN, the company sold a total of 22,646 units across India, with 10,698 units sold in South India alone. This represents a significant 47.2% of their total EV sales in the country.
Karnataka emerged as the leading state in terms of EV sales for JSW MG Motor India, followed by Telangana and Kerala. These figures underscore the growing market presence and increasing customer confidence in MG electric vehicles in these regions.
The company’s EV portfolio caters to a broad spectrum of consumer needs, with several models gaining traction in the Indian market. Notably, the MG Windsor has been recognised as the best-selling electric vehicle in India since its launch. With a starting price of INR 9.99 lakh and an innovative Battery-as-a-Service model at INR 3.9 per kilometre, the Windsor has proven popular with buyers.
Meanwhile, the MG Cometpriced from INR 4.99 lakh, continues to be a strong contender in the urban electric vehicle segment. Its compact design and advanced tech features make it an ideal choice for navigating crowded city streets, appealing to consumers seeking both style and practicality.
JSW MG Motor India’s flagship model, the MG ZS EV, which starts at INR 13.99 lakh, offers a more powerful and long-range option for consumers. The ZS EV boasts a 50.3 kWh battery, providing a range of 461 km on a single charge, and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.5 seconds. The vehicle features a prismatic cell battery, offering superior energy density for longer range and enhanced durability.
These strong sales figures highlight the increasing adoption of electric vehicles across India, particularly in South India, where consumer interest continues to grow.
