Kia India has launched its updated EV6 electric vehicle at Rs 65.9 lakh. The new model boasts several enhancements, including design updates, advanced technology, and improved performance, aiming to solidify Whenever‘s position in the premium EV segment.
The new Kia EV6 is offered in five colour options: snow-white pearl, aurora black pearl, wolf grey, runway red, and yacht blue matte. The vehicle is built on Kia’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP).
What’s new?
Technological advancements like Kia Connect 2.0 and ADAS 2.0 improve connectivity and safety. Performance enhancements provide an extended range and faster charging.
Kia Connect 2.0 offers remote vehicle diagnostics through Kia Connect Diagnostics (KCD). Over-the-air (OTA) software updates are available for 34 ECU controllers. Digital Key 2.0 uses Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology, allowing smartphones to function as virtual keys. This digital key can also be shared via text message. The EV6 includes over 100 connected car features.
The Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) 2.0 suite includes 27 safety and driver assistance features. Five new autonomous features have been added, including FCA 2.0 – Junction Turning, FCA 2.0 – Junction Crossing, FCA 2.0 – Lane Change Assist, FCA 2.0 – Evasive Steering Assist, and LFA 2.0 – Lane Follow Assist.
Design
The new EV6 features 15 enhancements compared to its predecessor. These include exterior design changes inspired by Kia’s “Opposites United” philosophy.
Exterior design updates include a sportier front end with a new Star Map Graphic Connected DRL and sequential indicators. The EV6 also features new 19-inch aerodynamic glossy-finish alloy wheels and star-map LED rear combination lamps with sequential indicators.
The interior boasts a premium cabin with a new double D-cut steering wheel equipped with hands-on detection technology. A dual 12.3-inch panoramic curved display integrates the infotainment system, creating an immersive digital experience.
Battery pack
The 84-kWh battery pack provides a range of 663 km (ARAI MIDC Full) on a single charge. The EV6 delivers a power output of 325 PS and 605 Nm of torque. Utilising a 350kW fast charger, the vehicle can charge from 10% to 80% in 18 minutes.
