The historical epic Chhaava starring Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika mandanna and Akshaye Khanna, directed by Laxman Utekar is on the brink of achieving a remarkable box office feat. With an impressive India net collection of Rs 594.73 crore at the end of 46th day , the film now needs just another Rs 3.26 crore to surpass the lifetime earnings of Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s Stree 2 (Rs 597.99 crore) and become the seventh highest-grossing Indian film in terms of India net collections.
Chhaava has captivated audiences with its grand storytelling and powerful performances. The film’s stronghold at the box office, especially in Maharashtra and North India, has propelled it to extraordinary numbers. Despite stiff competition from other big releases, it has continued its steady run, driven by strong word-of-mouth and a dedicated fan following.
On the other hand, Stree 2, the horror-comedy sequel to the 2018 blockbuster Stree, had already set a high benchmark with Rs 597.99 crore in India net collections. The Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer was a massive success, combining horror and humor in a way that resonated deeply with audiences. However, with Chhaava one expected the film to slow down with the release of new films this week like Prithviraj and Mohanlal’s L2: Empuraan and Salman Khan’s Sikandar. But while Empuraan is ruling the south and Sikandar is not living up to its expectation despite getting an Eid release . The current situation has pumped in a new life in Chhaava which on an average is minting Rs 1 crore everyday for the one week.
If the trend continues that by the time the film completes 50 days at cinema halls, it would be in touching distance of Rs 600 crore and become 7th biggest hit of Indian Cinema.
As it stands, Allu arjun’s Pushpa: The Rule – Part 2 leads the India net collections chart with Rs 1234.1 crore, followed by Prabhas’s Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (Rs 1030.42 crore), Yash’s KGF Chapter 2 (Rs 859.7 crore), Ram Charan and NTR Jr’s RRR (Rs 782.2 crore), Prabhas’s Kalki 2898 AD (Rs 646.31 crore), and Shah rukh khan’s Jawan (Rs 640.25 crore).
