The Bombay High Court is set to hear a petition today, filed by Satish Salian, the father of late celebrity manager Disha Salian. The case has stirred controversy once again for its alleged connection to the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajputwith fresh allegations and counterclaims coming to light. Salian is reportedly asking for a fresh investigation into his daughter’s death, claiming she was “murdered” and is demanding that key individuals be questioned.
Allegations and key accusations
According to IANS, Satish Salian, filed a legal petition asking for a new investigation into his daughter’s death and for some individuals, including politicians to be questioned. In the petition, he claimed that Disha was “raped and murdered”. These claims contradict his statements made 5 years ago when he had insisted that his daughter was “not raped or murdered” and that the allegations were fabricated by the media.
When asked about this change in his statement, Salian’s lawyer, Nilesh Ojha, said, “the distraught father was manipulated by certain political leaders and the police who wanted to shield the son of a leading politician.”
On 25 March, Ojha filed a fresh FIR in the case. Ojha stated that a written complaint had been submitted to the police commissioner. The FIR includes the names of Aaditya Thackeray, Dino Moreaand Suraj Pancholi. He Said, “Aaditya Thackeray, Dino Morea, Suraj Pancholi and His Bodyguard, Parambir Singh, Sachin Vaze and Rhea Chakraborty are all accused in the FIR.”
Parambir Singh accused as the mastermind
Ojha also claimed that Parambir Singh was the main mastermind behind the alleged cover-up. He claimed, “Parambir Singh held a press conference and fabricated lies to save Aaditya Thackeray. NCB’s probe proves that Aaditya Thackeray was involved in a drug business and it has been also mentioned in the FIR.”
Ojha further alleged that some senior police officers were part of the conspiracy and accused them of misusing police and government resources, falsifying records, suppressing witnesses, and trying to hide evidence. “It is my sincere request that all these acts should be immediately prosecuted under Sections 376(D), 302, 409, 120(B), 107, 109, 166, 167 and other applicable Sections of the IPC and strict action be taken against the accused,” he said.
CBI’s findings
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had earlier ruled Disha Salian’s death as ‘suicide’, stating there was ‘no foul play’. The agency also found no link between her death and that of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who passed away just days later.
According to the CBI’s report as cited by Mid-day, Disha was under extreme stress due to work-related issues and had confided in her fiancé, Rohan Roy, about her struggles. The report also claimed she was deeply distressed after learning that her father’s alleged affair, prompting him to misuse her earnings on a female employee from his spice business in Thane. The report states, “All of Salian’s friends and her fiancé, Roy, also stated in their police statements that she had confided in them about her father’s affair and how he had spent the money she gave him for business on another woman.”
Satish’s fresh petition challenging the findings of the CBI’s report comes months after the agency filed the closure report.
