Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika mandanna’s period drama Chhaava has officially completed 50 days at the Indian box officecontinuing its phenomenal run well into its eighth week. The film, which opened to strong numbers and sustained its momentum over the weeks, has now collected an estimated Rs 596.20 crore, placing it on the verge of crossing the coveted Rs 600 crore mark.
Entering its eighth week, Chhaava added approximately Rs 50 lakh to its impressive total. The film debuted with a massive Rs 219.25 crore in its first week, followed by Rs 180.25 crore in the second. The third week brought in Rs 84.05 crore, with subsequent weeks showing a gradual decline— Rs 55.95 crore in week four, Rs 33.35 crore in week five, Rs 16.3 crore in week six, and Rs 6.55 crore by the end of its seventh week.
Despite the predictable dip in earnings over time, the film has defied expectations with its sustained performance. Trade analysts now predict that Chhaava will comfortably surpass Rs 600 crore in lifetime domestic earnings, bolstered by the upcoming weekend and partial holidays.
Chhaava has already cemented its place as the first Indian blockbuster of 2025. However, it remains to be seen if it can break additional records in the weeks to come. Notably, the film now stands a chance of surpassing the eighth-week earnings of Uri: The Surgical Strikewhich collected Rs 3.83 crore during the same period in 2019. That figure is second only to Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, which remains the all-time leader for eighth-week earnings with Rs 4.06 crore since June 2001.
As Chhaava approaches its next milestone, all eyes are on whether it can etch its name on the box office history books.
Meanwhile, Vicky who is currently busy working on Sanjay leela bhansali‘s Love and Warhas yet to comment on the film’s box office success.
