Vijayawada: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has emphasised the need for a faster response while resolving public complaints and requests. He wanted officials to keep applicants informed about the status of their grievances. He suggested use of modern technology like AI for the purpose.
Chandrababu Naidu said petitions of people for which solutions can be found should be resolved within the stipulated time. Similarly, with regard to complaints for which solutions cannot be found, officials must give all details to petitioners as to why the complaints are not being resolved, he told the officials.
Presiding over a review meeting at the state secretariat on grievance redressal, the CM made several suggestions to officers. He asked them to collect Aadhaar numbers and Aadhaar-linked mobile numbers, so that fake complaints could be eliminated. If anyone tries to make a complaint repeatedly on the same issue, thereby misleading the government machinery and misusing the system, details of such persons should be collected and it must be examined whether a complaint must be lodged against such a person, he said.
Chandrababu Naidu asked district collectors to contact petitioners concerned in case they directly received such a complaint. Grievances of such petitioners can be disposed of at a faster pace, he pointed out.
The officials informed the Chief Minister that the largest number of petitions are being received with regard to only three wings – revenue, police and municipal administration. Complaints with regard to land have gone up as the previous government had violated the resurvey guidelines.
They explained that complaints are mainly related to the name of the landowner in revenue records, changes in names in pattadar passbooks and differences in extent of land in the resurvey. Major complaints with regard to the police department are property disputes, cybercrimes, marriage issues, land disputes and financial issues.
Complaints with regard to the municipal wing are mainly regarding encroachment of government properties, taking up constructions in violation of norms and property tax, officials explained to the CM.
