In a stunning turn of events at the box office, Vicky Kaushal’s historical action drama Chhaava has officially surpassed Shah rukh khan’s Jawan in terms of India net collections, becoming the third biggest hit in the history of Hindi cinema.
As per the latest figures, Chhaava has collected a staggering Rs 583.3 crore in India net, inching just ahead of Jawan’s Rs 582.31 crore. While Jawan had a massive worldwide gross of Rs 1160 crore and a strong overseas showing, the Hindi domestic net is what clinches the milestone for Chhaava, making it a truly remarkable achievement for Vicky Kaushal.
What makes Chhaava’s success even more impressive is its performance outside of the Hindi belt. The film had a Telugu release, where it ran successfully for nearly three weeks, earning an additional Rs 16 crore, taking its total Indian net collections to Rs 599.15 crore and very well be 7th film of Indian Cinema to enter Rs 600 crore club with films like Jawan, Kalki 2898 AD, RRR, KGF 2, Baahubali 2 and Pushpa 2..
Despite strong competition from big-ticket releases like Mohanlal-Prithviraj’s L2: Empuraan and Salman Khan’s Sikandar, Chhaava has shown impressive legs at the box office. Even now, the film continues to draw audiences, earning around Rs 35 lakhs daily over the past few days —an indicator of strong word-of-mouth and repeat viewership.
Chhaava now stands behind only Pushpa: The Rule – Part 2 and Stree 2 in the list of highest Hindi net grossers, making it a landmark moment in Vicky Kaushal’s career and proving that content-driven cinema with strong performances and mass appeal still holds tremendous power at the box office.
Vicky Kaushal is now gearing up for some of the biggest projects of his career. He will next be seen sharing screen space with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in Sanjay leela bhansali’s much-awaited epic drama Love & War, slated for release in March next year. The film is already creating waves for its star-studded cast and marks Bhansali’s return to the big screen after Gangubai Kathiawadi. Interestingly, Love & War is set for a box office clash with Yash’s Toxic—the superstar’s first release since the blockbuster success of the KGF franchise.
Beyond this, Vicky also has Amar Kaushik’s Mahavatar lined up, a big-ticket film expected to release in 2026, which is said to be a unique blend of mythology and modern storytelling. He’s also reuniting with director Shoojit Sircar for Ek Jaadugar, a project that has generated curiosity. This film marks their collaboration after the critically acclaimed Sardar Udham, and expectations are naturally sky-high.
