In wake of the high incidences of cancer cases being reported from Bhalabhadrapuram village in East Godavari district, eight teams of doctors have launched a mass health survey targeting nearly 10,000 residents.
The health camp aims to identify and detect various cancers, with a focus on breast and cervical cancers. District Medical and Health Officer Dr. K. Venkateswara Rao said: “Every household will be covered in this mass health camp.”
Meanwhile, the National Environmental Engineering and Research Institute (NEERI), Nagpur, is still investigating the alleged environmental pollution, suspected to be the cause of the high incidence of cancer cases in the Bhalabhadrapuram village.
