Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court adjourned a PIL seeking to restrain the Union and state governments from enforcing and operationalising the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025 in Telangana.
A division bench comprising acting Chief Justice Sujoy Paul and Justice Renuka Yara adjourned the hearing to after the summer vacation, as the concerned matters were pending before the Supreme Court.
The Bench was dealing with a PIL filed by Mohammed Rahim Khan of the Act Public Welfare Foundation who also requested the court to declare Sections 3A, 3B, 3C, 4,6, 9, 14, 23 and 61(1A) of the amendments ultra vires.
