Karimnagar: Union minister of state for home affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar is leading preparations to organise this year’s Hindu Ekta Yatra on May 22 in Karimnagar.
As part of the preparations, the poster for the event was unveiled by RSS Karimnagar division Saha Sanghchalak Dr C.H. Ramana Chary and VHP Karimnagar district president E. Madhusudan Rao at an event on Wednesday.
Sanjay Kumar has been organising the event in Karimnagar every year for the past 13 years to showcase the unity and self-respect of Hindus.
This year, leaders from various castes, public organisations, and spiritual groups are taking part.
Sanjay Kumar appealed to Union minister for labour and employment and youth affairs and sports, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya to establish an ESI Hospital at the Karimnagar district headquarters after meeting him in New Delhi on Wednesday.
He also sought Rs 10 crore for a synthetic track at Ambedkar Stadium in Karimnagar and requested funding for a multi-purpose sports hall at Satavahana University under the “Khelo India” scheme.
He said that there is an urgent need for an ESI Hospital to serve thousands of labourers including beedi workers and weavers, from across northern Telangana.
Sanjay Kumar also stressed for early approval of a Rs 16 crore multipurpose hall project at Satavahana University for which a feasibility report has already been submitted by the Sports Authority of India.
Responding positively, Dr Mandaviya assured support and informed that the ESI Hospital proposal has been forwarded to the Prime Minister’s Office and also directed officials to expedite the evaluation and approval of the remaining proposals.
