The iconic ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ has re-released in cinemas again. The film is actually quite memorable, in terms of its content. However, there’s more that is associated with the movie. Several people have spoken about Raveena tandon and Charisma kapoor‘s catfight and how they never spoke to each other during the shoot of ‘Andaz Apna Apna’.
Did Karisma get Raveena removed from four movies?
In an old interview with Rediff, Raveena was quoted saying without naming the actress, “I won’t name the heroine, but because she was insecure she had me removed from four films. As a matter of fact, I was to do one of the films with her. She was closer to the producer and the hero apparently. So these things do happen, but I’m not into playing these sort of games.”
‘Karisma can keep Ajay’
As per reports, Karisma Kapoor and Ajay Devgn were dating each other before he got married to Kajol. And seemingly Karisma was insecure as a girlfriend. Raveena had once said in an interview with Stardust, “She can keep Ajay. I am not interested. When Ajay Karisma have babies, they will look like Zebras.”
Many years later, Raveena was asked about how Karisma refused to pose with her. She had said that today she doesn’t mind even working with Ajay or Karisma. “I would pose with a broomstick if need be… Karisma and I are not the best of friends. Ditto with Ajay… Professionally I’m ready to work with Ajay or Karisma. Where work is concerned I don’t bother about these stupid ego problems,” Raveena had said.
Aamir’s recent confession regarding the trouble
Aamir Khan recently spoke about the making of ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ and during a conversation with India Today, he said, “”Don’t know if I should say this. Raveena and Karisma ka anban chal raha tha. Main sochta tha ki ye film kaise khatam hogi. Ek saath log shoot nahi kar paa rahe the (Raveena and Karisma were having some conflicts. I used to think how this film would ever be completed. People didn’t want to shoot with each other). But I really believed in that film. It was so wacky and mad. We were at our peak, Salman and I, at the time. But the film didn’t even run for a week. I was flummoxed because I thought it was a great film. But now I believe it is the number one film in home entertainment. Every generation has seen it, every generation wants to see it.”
Farah Khan said they hit each other with wigs
Once during an episode of ‘Koffee With Karan’, Farah Khan had spoken about Raveena and Karisma’s catfight. She had said, “I was once doing a song with Karisma Kapoor and Raveena Tandon, long ago, in a film called Aatish. They were both having some kind of teenage spat. They were hitting each other with their wigs. One was hitting, the other was stamping her foot with her heel. It was quite childish. I am sure they will laugh about it now.”
