Vijayawada:On the second day of the Amaravati relaunch programme on Saturday, the Chandrababu Naidu government started efforts to accelerate the construction work of the capital.
Minister of municipal administration and urban development Ponguru Narayana has plunged into action with the APCRDA officials, designers and planners on Saturday.
Narayana held discussions at the APCRDA office to finalise the designs of iconic buildings with the companies concerned. The minister met with representatives of Norman Poster, Hafeez Contractors and L&T companies.
Narayana said they are working on the final designs of the five iconic towers, the Assembly and the High Court buildings. The minister affirmed that the capital Amaravati construction works have picked up pace and under the guidance of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the capital would be completed in the next three years.
Minister of industries and commerce T.G. Bharath said Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy missed a golden chance of joining hands in the construction of a world-class capital Amaravati. The minister said, “If Y.S. Jagan had come to the Prime Minister’s meeting, he would have participated in the construction of Amaravati. He would have had an opportunity to correct the mistakes he made in the past regarding the capital. The tenders for the capital works have already been completed. With the inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the work will start immediately,” Bharath added.
Minister of MSME, Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP) and NRI Relations & Empowerment Kondapalli Srinivas thanked the people who made Prime Minister’s visit a success. He said the start of the reconstruction of Amaravati is a good development. He said, “We are lagging behind in the capital with the division of the state.”
Srinivas criticised the previous YSRC rulers for weakening the capital. He explained that plans have been made for the development of Amaravati. “We are working for the development of every district along with the capital.”
The minister said Chandrababu Naidu is looking at development and welfare with two eyes. He said 11 MSME parks have been opened in the state. Srinivas said funds have been prepared for the establishment of 39 more parks and the goal of the alliance is to provide jobs and employment to the youth.
