In conversation with ET, Nathan Fillion stared he’s “really, really been jonesing” for Guy Gardener’s comic book-accurate bowl cut in Superman.
I’m a comic book nerd from a long time back. I knew for some time that I was going to be playing the role, and I have really, really, been jonesing for a bowl-cut. And here it is, this is it, it’s everything. I’m up there rubbing elbows with Superman, Hawkgirl, Mr. [Terrific]…It’s all my dreams coming true.

Whistle
Deadline reports Shudder and the Independent Film Company have acquired the U.S. rights to Whistlea new horror film from The Nun director, Corin Hardy, concerning an Aztec death whistle. Starring Dafne Keen, Sophie Nélisse, Sky Yang, Percy Hynes White and Nick Frost, the story concerns “a misfit group of unwitting high school [who] students stumble upon a cursed object, an ancient Aztec Death Whistle. Soon, they discover that blowing the whistle and the terrifying sound it emits will summon their future deaths to hunt them down. As the body count rises, the friends investigate the origins of the deadly artifact in a desperate effort to stop the horrifying chain of events that they have set in motion.”
Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein
Speaking at the Cannes Film Festival (via Variety), Guillermo del Toro stated his upcoming Frankenstein project is “not a horror movie.”
Somebody asked me the other day, does it have really scary scenes? For the first time, I considered that. It’s an emotional story for me. It’s as personal as anything. I’m asking a question about being a father, being a son… I’m not doing a horror movie — ever. I’m not trying to do that.
We’re finding the emotion. And what I can say is, for me, it’s an incredibly emotional movie.
