Porsche has made a road-legal version of its 963 race car, a legendary Le Mans racer it built over 50 years ago. Dubbed the 963 RSP, it is all but technically identical to its racing counterpart. At its heart is a 4.6-litre twin-turbocharged V8 paired to a hybrid system, which makes about 680hp. Interestingly, the V8 motor has been derived from the Porsche 918 Spyder. While Porsche hasn’t revealed the 963 RSP’s 0-100kph and top speed figures, it’s estimated to be similar to the old 963’s figures of 3 seconds and 330kph. The 963 RSP competes in the same class as the Ferrari 499Alpine A424 and BMW M Hybrid V8.
