More wind possible with storms Tuesday

Our daily storm chances roll on. After a quiet Monday, we had a busier start to your Tuesday. The initial round of storms produced downpours and even a 54 mph wind gust in Morehead City this morning.

The wind threat will remain isolated this afternoon, but like we saw over the weekend, still capable of producing damage. The New Bern area was hit hard by a storm on Saturday and the Newport area caught wind from a storm on Sunday.

Storms come in waves impacting different areas at different times. The afternoon storms will likely be more isolated than widespread. We’ll also have to keep an eye out for storms outside of our area that move in overnight.

Rain and clouds should keep temperatures down a bit compared to Monday. The humidity stays high.
