New BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe India engine
Gets a new 156hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine

As mentioned above, the second-gen 2 Series Gran Coupe will be available in petrol form only, at least initially. The 218 Gran Coupe is powered by a 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that produces 156hp and 230Nm. An 8-speed automatic sends power to the front wheels. It should be noted that the outgoing model came with a 190hp, 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine.
New BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe India exterior design
It is larger overall than its predecessor
While the second-gen model is based on the same UKL2 platform as its predecessor – the 2,670mm wheelbase length and 1,800mm width is the same – the new 2 Series GC is larger overall. The length has increased by 20mm to 4,546mm, and the height is up by 25mm to 1,445mm. The new 2 Series GC’s boot space is rated at 430 litres. Compared to the outgoing model, the new sedan gets a sharper design, adaptive LED slimmer headlights and a backlight grille. As the 218 GC is only available in M Sport form in India, the bumpers sport sharp cuts and blacked-out elements. Multi-spoke, dual-tone 18-inch alloy wheels are standard.
New BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe India interior and features
Dark mocha interiors are standard, though lighter upholstery is available as an option

The BMW 218 Gran Coupe M Sport’s interior retains the brand’s typical minimalist theme – it is largely devoid of buttons – and the curved glass panel that merges the 10.7-inch infotainment touchscreen and the 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster is angled towards the driver. These screens run on BMW’s latest OS9 software. The upholstery on the seats and doors are uniformly dark mocha brown, though other upholstery options are available.
A panoramic sunroof is standard along with a wireless charger, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 360-degree camera, automatic parking, an ADAS suite, and a digital key, which allows for emote control of basic functions such as lock/unlock, cabin pre-cooling, and boot access.
