For these sort of travel requirements, a scooter with a battery capacity around 3.5kWh should be considered.
I’m looking for a reliable electric two-wheeler for my 60km daily commute (non-stop). My only requirements are that it should be comfortable, reliable, sturdy and safe and with a compartment or handle to carry a large basket (lunch carrier dabba). Please suggest a reputed make with no service issues and good warranty on the battery. Thank you.

Autocar India says: Given the fact that you have quite a long commute we’ll assume that there will be speeds of above 50kph involved. This means that you will want something with a decent top speed of 70-80kph.
As for range, while many scooters with battery capacities of around 3 to 3.5kWh claim a true range of 100km, that figure is achieved in Eco mode which restricts the top speed. What you want is something that can comfortably cover more than 60km in Sport mode to avoid any range anxiety issues or restricted performance as the battery charge levels drop below 20-30 percent. Therefore we’d recommend that you consider something with a battery capacity around 3.5kWh and look at the claimed True range figures rather than IDC.
Considering your other priorities of comfort, practicality, reliability and storage space, we’d recommend that you pick from popular and proven options like the Ather Rizta 3.7, Bajaj Chetak 35 Series, TVS iQube 3.5 variants and the Hero Vida V2 Pro.
Any of these four will meet your needs and we suggest you take test rides to see which is more comfortable for you, which is quite important given that you have long distances to cover every day. You can pick one based on that factor as well as what sort of deal you are getting and what showroom is closer to you.
Since safety and a good battery warranty are also priorities, the Ather Rizta might be what you want. It is one of the more expensive options when you tick all the boxes but it has some good safety features and also offers an optional 5 or 8-year battery warranty. However, do ensure that you test ride all the options before making a choice.
