PHOENIX — A man is dead and a woman is in the hospital after a house fire broke out in Glendale on Tuesday evening, authorities said.
Firefighters from the Phoenix and Glendale fire departments were dispatched to the area of 43rd Avenue and Greenway Road for reports of a structure fire around 6 p.m., according to the Phoenix Fire Department.

When crews arrived there was heavy flames and smoke coming from the interior of the house.
They quickly began firefighting efforts as well as search and rescue efforts.
Inside the house, firefighters found an adult male who was unconscious and not breathing. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.
An adult female was transported to the hospital with minor burn injuries.
Phoenix Fire Investigations Task Force is investigating the fire and community assistance programs are tending to the needs of the family.
