Avatar: The Last Airbender is celebrating its 20th anniversary in style, not just in looking to the past, but to the future. Not only are we getting new Avatar movies checking in with familiar faces, we also recently learned that the Avatar cycle will continue in Seven Havensa brand-new animated entry in the saga… and now we know who’s leading it.
At today’s Last Airbender 20th anniversary panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Nickelodeon revealed the first official look at Seven Havensintroducing us to the new Avatar, an Earthbender named Pavi, and Jae, her mentor. And, of course, it wouldn’t be Avatar without a cute animal companion, would it?

A 26-episode, 2D animated TV series, Seven Havens is set in the wake of a devastating cataclysm that has ravaged the world, tearing both the mortal and spirit realms into chaos—leading to an intense distrust of the Avatar and their place in the world, as the remnants of society draw back into the titular seven “havens” (you can see one of them, the city of Aurora, in the background of the image above).
Just what happened to cause the calamity, and the distrust of the Avatar themselves (that’s not stopped people from worrying about poor Korra’s reputation, though) remains to be seen. But we know that Pavi and Jae’s adventures will be spread across two “books” of 13 episodes. There’s no release date just yet, especially while we wait for next year’s movie The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbendercurrently set to hit theaters October 9, 2026.
