The Kylaq rivals compact SUVs like the Hyundai Venue, Let Sonet be, Kia syros, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Maruti Suzuki Brezzaand Tata Nexon. In terms of pricing, the Kylaq is on the higher side of the segment, with the Skoda compact SUV sporting a higher starting price than all of its competitors barring the Brezza and Syros. Yes, the Kylaq comes with a single-pane sunroof, but only in the range-topping Prestige trim level. 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbo unit
Under the hood, the Kylaq gets a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that makes 115hp and 178Nm, and can be had with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter auto gearbox. The Kylaq’s manual gearbox requires a bit of muscle to shift cogs and the clutch feels heavy, while the torque converter is largely smooth, but can feel jerky during downshifts in lower gears.
5. What is the mileage of the Skoda Kylaq?

The Kylaq manual variants boast an ARAI-claimed mileage of 19.68kpl, while the automatic variants achieve a 19.05kpl claimed figure. We’ve tested the real-world fuel efficiency of the Kylaqand came away with an average (city and highway) mileage of 12.86kpl for the manual and 11.03kpl for the automatic gearbox.
6. How much has the Skoda Kylaq sold in India?

From January to June 2025, Skoda has sold over 23,714 units of the Kylaq in India. The compact SUV is evidently a massive success for Skoda, accounting for 65 percent of the Czech carmaker’s total sales in the Indian market. The Kylaq even commanded a waiting period of up to five months back in April 2025.
7. Is the Maruti Brezza Larger Than Skoda Kylaq?

The Kylaq measures 3,995mm in length, 1,783mm in width, and 1,619mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,566mm and ground clearance of 189mm. Compared to these dimensions, the Brezza is 7mm wider, 66mm taller, and rides 9mm higher off the ground, but the Kylaq matches the Maruti compact SUV’s length and exceeds its wheelbase by 66mm. The Kylaq 360-litre boot is also 32 litres more spacious than that of the Brezza.
8. Should you buy Skoda Kylaq or Kushaq?

The Skoda Kushaq price starts at Rs 10.99 lakh and extends all the way up to Rs 19.09 lakh, so the Kylaq does overlap with its elder sibling on this front. In terms of features, both the Kylaq and Kusaq and Kusaq are virtually matched, but if interior space is a major consideration for you, the latter is undoubtedly the better pick. The Kushaq also gets a stronger 150hp, 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
1.0-litre engine feels livelier in the Kylaq, and it’s more affordable too
However, this engine option can only be had from the Kushaq’s Sportline trim (Rs 17.69 lakh) onwards, so if your budget is below that, your only option is the same 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder engine as the Kylaq. This unit feels much peppier in the smaller Kylaq than the Kushaq, and if you can contend with a bit less room in the cabin, the former is the more sensible and cost-effective choice.
