July 2025’s sales figures for the heavyweights in the petrol-powered two-wheeler market have arrived and here’s how each brand performed.
Honda: 4,66,331 units
In recent times, Honda has been overtaking Hero on an increasingly regular basis and last month was one such instance. In the process, the company also reported a significant 19.94 percent increase compared to its June 2025 sales figures (3,88,812 units). Even in comparison to its sales for July 2024 (4,39,118 units), Honda reported a 6.20 percent increase.
Honda has been on a launch spree of late and has not only launched several premium models but recently also took the covers off the new CB125 Hornet and Shine 100 DX – mass-market models aimed at solidifying its grip on the number one spot in the Indian two-wheeler market.
Hero: 4,12,397 units
Hero slumped to second place last month after a very positive June 2025 (5,25,136 units), which meant it recorded a rather big 21.47 percent decline. That being said, Hero did report an 18.66 percent increase in comparison to its numbers for the previous July (3,47,535 units). Hero recently expanded its scooter portfolio with the Zero 125 and its bread-and-butter commuter bike stable with the HF Deluxe Pro.
TVS: 3,08,720 units
Hosur-based TVS is in its usual number 3 spot but has reported a 9.86 percent increase in comparison to its sales for June 2025 (2,81,012 units). It reported an even bigger 21.42 percent increase when compared to its sales for July 2024 (2,54,250 units). It bears mentioning that TVS doesn’t bundle in sales of the popular iQube – currently India’s bestselling electric scooter– into these numbers.
TVS has a number of new products in the pipeline including the hotly anticipated Apache RTX 300 adventure bike as well as a new entry-level electric scooter. TVS will also manufacture the upcoming BMW F 450 GS midsize adventure tourer for the Bavarian brand.
Bajaj: 1,39,279 units
Bajaj Auto has had a slow July and reported a 6.72 percent decrease compared to its sales tally for June 2025 (1,49,317 units). Even in comparison to its July 2024 sales figure (1,68,847 units), the Chakan-based company reported a 17.51 percent decline. It bears mentioning that sales of the popular Chetak electric scooter are bundled into the aforementioned figure.
Bajaj recently bailed KTM out of its difficult financial position and is now a majority owner of the Austrian marque’s parent company. Bajaj also has a partnership with Triumph to manufacture its 400cc models in India and the latest one will be a Speed 400-based cafe racer.
Suzuki: 96,029 Units
Of late, Suzuki’s monthly sales have been hovering around the one lakh units mark and with over 96,000 units sold in July, the company reported a marginal rise of 0.82 percent in comparison to June 2025 (95,244 units). However, in comparison to its performance in July 2024 (1,00,602 units), Suzuki reported a small decline of 4.55 percent.
Suzuki is planning to enter the electric scooter game with its new e-Access and is also working on updating its popular Burgman scooter in the background – expect similar changes to the Burgman as we saw on the 2025 Access.
Royal Enfield: 76,254 units
Royal Enfield has been consistently maintaining its sales tally around the 75,000-unit mark for the past few months and July was no different. It did, however, report a miniscule 0.91 percent decrease in comparison to June 2025 (76,957 units). However, it did report a perceivable 24.58 percent increase when compared to its performance in July 2024 (61,208 units).
Royal Enfield recently updated its Hunter 350 with a few improvements from customer and media feedback. It also has a number of new products in the pipeline including a new 250cc platformthe Flying Flea electrics as well as its 750cc modelsof which the first will be the Continental GT-R.
