Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) announced that its flagship SUV, the Creta, has emerged as the highest-selling passenger vehicle across all segments in India for the January–July 2025 period. The company sold 1,17,458 units of the Creta during these seven months, recording an 8 per cent year-on-year growth over the same period in 2024.
The milestone comes as the Creta marks its 10th year in the Indian market — a period during which it has established itself as a mainstay in the country’s mid-size SUV segment.
“As we celebrate a decade of the Hyundai CRETAwe are truly humbled by the unwavering love and trust of our customers. Becoming India’s best-selling car across all segments… reflects the emotional connect CRETA has built over the years,” said Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and COO, Hyundai Motor India.
The Creta’s continued popularity comes despite growing competition in the mid-size SUV space. With its latest refresh, Hyundai has strengthened its position with design updates, new features, and the addition of a turbo-petrol powertrain to broaden its appeal.
Hyundai’s performance is also indicative of the brand’s stronghold in the SUV space, supported by models such as the Venue, Alcazar, and Tucson, said the company.
The company said it remains committed to raising the benchmark for performance, style, and customer satisfaction in the segment.
