Kakinada: People of the Settibalija caste led by Settibalija Welfare Corporation chairman K. Sathibabu performed Abhishekam with milk to the photo of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at the Lalacheruvu Centre near Rajamahendravaram in East Godavari district on Sunday.
Sathibabu said the CM has done justice to Settibalijas, in particular toddy community people, by providing 10 per cent quota in allotment of liquor shops and bars, in addition to 50 per cent subsidy in the license fees.
“This, apart from fulfilment of the Super Six promises, will help the community develop them economically and socially,” he declared. He appreciated Education minister Nara Lokesh for bringing reforms in the education system to benefit students.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Rajamahendravaram Urban MLA Adireddy Srinivas exhorted Settibalijas to grow politically, apart from thanking them for electing him in the last assembly elections. He said Chandrababu Naidu has introduced several schemes to help downtrodden sections like the Settibalija and backward class communities.
The MLA pointed out that while the previous YSRC government had reduced the BC reservations to 24 per cent from 34 per cent, the present NDA alliance government has increased it to 34 per cent again.
Aryapuram Cooperative Urban Bank Director Buddiga Ravi, State Gowda Corporation Director Yamina Narayana Gowd, Kadali Ramakurthi Ravi Yadav and Chintapalli Nani, among others.
