The Renault Triber has been on sale in India since 2019. And with the 2025 facelift, the compact MPV has received new features and more safety equipment. Keep reading to discover this sub-4-metre Renault’s positives and weaknesses to help you make an informed purchase.

As seen in the table above, Triber prices start at Rs 6.3 lakh, and no other MPV comes close to that. For reference, the Maruti Ertiga price range starts at Rs 9.12 lakh, while that of the Kia Carens is from Rs 11.41 lakh. Even the top-spec Triber Emotion AMT price of Rs 9.17 lakh makes it the most affordable automatic MPV option right now.
Impressive third row space
Good headroom and reasonable seat comfort
The Triber can seat a maximum of seven people, but considering its compact dimensions, the Renault MPV truly impresses when it comes to space in the third row. Headroom is good, and what helps are the adjustable rear headrests and reasonable seat comfort. When not in use, the last two seats can be completely removed to increase boot space to a massive 625 litres. Renault offers CNG retrofitment as well, increasing its mass appeal.

Renault Triber Techno variant’s interior.
Though the base version may be bare-bones, the Triber Techno variant – one below the top trim – has a good mix of features, and it’s affordable as well at Rs 8 lakh. On offer here are 15-inch steel wheels with covers, projector headlamps, electric adjustment for outside rearview mirrors, an 8-inch touchscreen, 4 speakers, wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering-mounted audio and phone controls, a cooled centre console and a second-row 12V charging socket. Notably, 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, TPMS, Isofix seat anchors and 3-point seat belts for all passengers are standard safety features of the Triber.

With the Triber’s strong points stated, let us now discuss some of its limitations.
No turbo-petrol engine option
72hp, 1.0-litre NA petrol engine with MT/AMT
Under the hood is a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine with modest outputs of 72hp and 96Nm. Our pre-facelift Triber review noted that one has to work the engine to get the most out of it, and overtaking needs planning. With a full load of passengers – and/or on long inclines too – you have to be conscious of being in the right gear for the speed, it added. It’s not one of the most refined petrol motors either. While a 5-speed manual is standard, note that AMT pairing is possible solely with the Triber’s top version. Although the automaker was considering a turbo-petrol engine for the Triber, it has not added the option, citing less demand.
Hard plastics for most interior parts
Found on door trims, dashboard
From the dashboard to door trims, hard plastics dominate the Triber’s interior. Its Kiger SUV-like dashboard does look nice, but some soft-touch material usage will definitely improve the overall experience. However, this may not be a dealbreaker for many, and one should understand that affordable pricing is crucial for Renault, which is where the Triber shines.
