Visakhapatnam: Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan has assured to bring the concerns of differently-abled citizens before the state Cabinet after receiving multiple petitions highlighting various challenges faced by the community.
The Deputy Chief Minister met with representatives from the visually challenged youth association, who submitted a detailed petition outlining key issues affecting their community. The association’s representatives specifically requested amendments to Government Order No. 2, seeking to make Roster Point 6 general to benefit eligible blind male candidates.
“We will discuss the solution to their problems,” Pawan Kalyan assured the petitioners after listening to their concerns.
The association highlighted several critical issues requiring government intervention, including individual ration cards, social pension distribution and employment opportunities.
In a separate meeting, several autorickshaw drivers from Visakhapatnam presented their grievances to the Deputy Chief Minister’s office, expressing concerns about reduced income due to implementation of the Shakti scheme.
Pawan Kalyan acknowledged their concerns while defending the government’s policy direction. “The Stree Shakti scheme is part of the Super Six guarantees and the intention of the coalition government is to provide financial relief to women through this scheme,” he said.
The Deputy Chief Minister assured the autorickshaw drivers that he would raise their concerns about income sources and other related issues during the Cabinet discussions, seeking solutions that balance social welfare initiatives with the economic needs of different working communities.
