ANANTAPUR: After winning two ZPTC seats in Kadapa district, including Pulivendula, the home turf of YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Telugu Desam has turned its focus on strengthening the party at all levels in the erstwhile Kadapa district.
As part of this effort, IT minister Nara Lokesh will undertake a day-long visit to Kadapa district on September 2.
Official sources said Lokesh will inaugurate Techno Pvt Ltd, a textile industry with an investment of ₹50 crore, and Technodome India Pvt Ltd at Kopparthy Industrial Area. These units will manufacture garments, SED TVs, multimedia speakers and other audio-related equipment.
The projects are expected to generate direct and indirect employment for more than 2,000 people in and around the Kopparthy industrial belt. Party sources said the Kopparthy Mega Industrial Hub, developed across 600 acres near the outskirts of Kadapa, is being equipped with facilities to attract entrepreneurs and investors.
The state government has already initiated steps to establish a steel plant in Kadapa district, with Jindal Steels preparing to set up a large-scale unit following a recent MoU with the government. TD leaders believe that these initiatives will highlight the government’s commitment to industrial development in Kadapa, countering perceptions that the region, once a YSRC stronghold, has been neglected.
Official sources added that Lokesh will also inaugurate smart kitchens under the Dokka Seethamma Midday Meal scheme in Kamalapuram Assembly segment. The project aims to set up smart kitchens in all centres under a pilot phase.
