In August 2025, we saw major car launches from Renault, Mercedes and Volvo. The month also brought special editions, with Mahindra, Skoda, Toyota and BMW rolling out limited-run versions for some of their cars, while Maruti Suzuki, Nissan and Hyundai introduced new black editions; the Korean carmaker also launched a new variant along with a limited edition for its bestselling model. Even Citroen joined in with a new trim for its only hatchback in India. Here’s a quick recap of all the key launches.
New car launches
Renault Kiger facelift
The facelifted Renault Kiger price range starts at Rs 5.76 lakh and goes up to Rs 10.33 lakh. As is typical of a facelift, subtle exterior and interior changes have been made to the compact SUV. As for engine options, the 72hp 1.0-litre naturally aspirated and 100hp turbo-petrol mills have been carried over.
Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Coupe
The Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Coupe is positioned above the CLE 300 Cabriolet and is priced at Rs 1.35 crore. The hotter coupe version is powered by a 449hp 3.0-litre twin-turbo petrol engine and does the 0-100kph sprint in a claimed 4.2 seconds. Top speed is 250kph (270kph with the optional AMG Performance Package).
Volvo XC60 facelift
August also saw the launch of the Volvo XC60 facelift, priced at Rs 67.11 lakh. The 2025 Volvo SUV is mechanically unchanged, with a few cosmetic alterations and feature upgrades. Under the hood, the facelifted Volvo XC60 continues with the 250hp 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine.
Special editions and new variants
Hyundai Creta King
To celebrate the 10-year run of the Hyundai Creta in India, the carmaker introduced three top-of-the-line trims for the midsize SUV. These are the Creta King (Rs 17.27 lakh-19.86 lakh), Creta King Knight Edition (Rs 18.82 lakh-20.05 lakh) and Creta King Limited Edition (Rs 18.97 lakh-20.20 lakh), and they come with new exterior and interior features. Depending on the trim, the Creta King trio can be optioned with a 1.5-litre engine – a 115hp naturally aspirated petrol, a 160hp turbo-petrol or a 116hp diesel.
Nissan Magnite Kuro
The blacked-out Nissan Magnite Kuro price ranges between Rs 7.6 lakh and Rs 9.94 lakh. Powertrain in the Magnite Kuro differs as per the variant. Available 1.0-litre petrol engines include 72hp naturally aspirated and the 100hp turbo options.
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Phantom blaq
Phantom Blaq is essentially a dealer-level cosmetic package for the Maruti Grand Vitaracosting around Rs 1.05 lakh over the SUV’s top-spec Alpha+ strong hybrid variants, which are priced from Rs 16.99 lakh to Rs 20.52 lakh. The Grand Vitara strong hybrid has a 116hp 1.5-litre petrol engine along with a front-mounted electric motor.
Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition
The limited-run Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition, launched at Rs 27.79 lakh, is a result of the homegrown brand’s collaboration with DC Comics of Warner Bros. The BE 6 Batman Edition gets distinctive exterior and interior elements, and all 999 units of it have been spoken for. The SUV has a 286hp rear axle-mounted electric motor that sources power from a 79kWh battery pack.
Skoda Kylaq Limited Edition
The Skoda Kylaq Limited Edition celebrates the Czech carmaker’s 25th anniversary in India, and the brand is offering 500 units of the same at no extra cost over the regular model. Available from the mid-spec Signature+ trim, the Kylaq Limited Edition is priced between Rs 10.34 lakh and Rs 11.84 lakh. It sports exterior badges and comes with new features. The Kylaq is offered only with a 115hp 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine.
Skoda Kushaq and Slavia Anniversary Editions
Like the Kylaq, only 500 units each of the Skoda Slavia and Harsh Anniversary Edition will be available. The Anniversary Edition of the sedan and the midsize SUV, based on their respective Monte Carlo trims, feature exterior and interior upgrades. The Skoda Slavia Anniversary Edition is priced from Rs 14.99 lakh to Rs 17.70 lakh, while the Kushaq Anniversary Edition costs between Rs 15.82 lakh and Rs 18.43 lakh. Both cars are offered with 115hp 1.0-litre and 150hp 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine options.
Toyota Camry Sprint Edition
The Toyota Camry’s Sprint Edition is a dealer-level accessory kit, which does not command any premium over the regular Camry. Priced at Rs 47.48 lakh, the Sprint Edition brings a sportier look on the outside and a few additional features. The Camry Sprint Edition sees no changes under the hood and is powered by the 230hp 2.5-litre petrol engine.
Citroen C3 X
The range-topping Citroen C3 X trim effectively replaces the previous top-spec Shine variants and is priced between Rs 7.91 lakh and Rs 10.15 lakh. The C3 X is available with the 82hp 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and 110hp 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine options.
BMW 3 Series LWB and M340i 50 Years of Edition
BMW 3 Series Long Wheelbase.
The BMW 3 Series Long Wheelbase (330Li M Sport) and the sportier M340i witnessed the launch of their 50 Jahre Edition, featuring sporty exterior and interior upgrades. The 330Li M Sport Jahre Edition is priced at Rs 64 lakh, while the special edition M340i 50 costs Rs 76.90 lakh.

Both are limited to 50 units each. The special edition 330Li M Sport carries over the regular 258hp 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. Similarly, the M340i 50 Jahre Edition retains the 374hp 3.0-litre turbo-petrol engine.
BMW X5 M Sport Pro
The new BMW X5 M Sport Pro is priced at Rs 1.13 crore for the petrol version (xDrive40i) and Rs 1.15 crore for the diesel (xDrive30d). The M Sport Pro variants are mechanically the same, with only changes to the exterior and interior. The BMW X5 M Sport Pro petrol is powered by a 381hp 3.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, while the diesel version uses a 286hp 3.0-litre mill.
