Film maker Abhinav kashyap has taken a sharp dig at Salman Khan after the superstar praised his brother Anurag kashyap’s new film, Nishaanchi. In a recent interview, Abhinav accused Salman of “flattery and chamchagiri,” claiming that the actor’s appreciation post was nothing but an attempt to silence him.
Salman’s appreciation post
On September 13, 2025, Salman took to Instagram Stories to wish the Nishaanchi team. In a video, surrounded by Sonakshi Sinha and the film’s lead actor Vedika Pinto, he zoomed in on the poster and wrote, “Best wishes for the film #Nishaanchi @vedikapinto @aaishvarythackeray @anuragkashyap10 @aslisona.”
“Written in his destiny to flatter us”
Abhinav reacted strongly to the gesture. Recalling past tensions between Salman and his brother Anurag during the filming of Tere Naam, he alleged that the superstar had troubled Anurag and forced him to leave the project. Now, he said, Salman was left with no choice but to praise the very people he once mistreated.“Salman ki takdeer par likha hai, ab yeh humare hi talve chaatega. Anurag Kashyap Jisko Tere Naam Pereshaan Kiya Tha. Bheek Bhi Mangenge (“It is written in salman’s destiny that now he will lick our feet. I once called him a goon in an interview, so now he is trying to show that he is our great admirer. The same Anurag Kashyap whom he troubled during Tere Naam. Anurag had left the film; he wasn’t removed. And now Salman is seen praising him — of course, he will do that. Soon he will be on his knees, even begging.”),” Abhinav told Bollywood Thikana.
Claims post was to ‘shut him up’
The filmmaker went a step further, suggesting that Salman praised Nishaanchi only so that Anurag could convince him to stop making statements. He even likened the appreciation to misleading WhatsApp ads.“Mujhe ek whatsapp pe ad aaya burj khalifa main 50th floor par ek flat hai aur uske upar clubhouse, pricing ke liye samparak karen Chup kara den.
