After a very dry run at the box office, Akshay Kumar is finally seeing a resurgence in his career in 2025 with films like Housefull 5, Sky Force and Kesari 2. His latest release Jolly LLB 3 with Arshad Warsi, Saurabh shukla and director Subhash Kapoor though started on a good note but isn’t performing as expected. But as it is said every dark cloud has a silver lining, same goes with the film as within just 8 days it has become Akshay’s 5th biggest grosser since Pandemic leaving behind half a dozen of films. Jolly LLB 3 minted Rs 74 crore in its first week and on Friday it was able to add another Rs 4 crore to its tally taking 8 days total of the film to Rs 78 crore. With that the film passed his 2022 Diwali release Ram Setu which had collected Rs 74.7 crore. And in just 8 days Akshay’s film has gone past his other films like Samrat Prithviraj with Rs 68.25 crore, Bachchan Pandey with Rs 51.04 crore. The films ahead of Jolly LLB 3 are Kesari 2 with Rs 92.73 crore, Sky Force with Rs 113.62 crore, Housefull 5 with Rs 183.38 crore and Sooryavanhi with Rs 195.55 crore.
Jolly LLB 3 will need to perform strongly over the second weekend if it wants to have a fighting chance to jump to the 4th spot. It also is facing no real competition as no other big Hindi film has been released. Ishaan Khatter, Vishal jethwa and Janhvi Kapoor’s Homebound has been released in limited screens and Pawan Kalyan’s They Call Him OG has also been concentrated in Telugu speaking states. Akshay will be nest seen in Priyadarshan’s Bhoot Bangla with Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi and Paresh Rawal. He’s currently shooting for Haiwaan again with Priyadarshan and he’s teamed up with Saif Ali Khan for the first time since Tashan.
