Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs is off to a solid start in 2025. Through their first three games, he has racked up 180 yards and two touchdowns on 58 carries.
After racking up 1,329 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns last year, he has been as good as advertised after signing a four-year, $48 million deal with Green Bay before the 2024 season.

However, concerns were growing whether he’d be available for the Packers’ “Sunday Night Football” matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. The running back was limited in all three of the team’s practices this week due to an ankle injury.

Packers Announce Josh Jacobs’ Status
Potentially being without one of their biggest offensive threats would be a huge disappointment as Green Bay looks to avoid a 2-2 start.
Fortunately, though, on Friday, in an article from the Packers’ official website, they revealed Jacobs will be good to go against the Cowboys.

This is great news, as they try to bounce back from a Week 3 loss against the Cleveland Browns, 13-10.
Packers May Rely Heavily on Josh Jacobs
The Cowboys’ run defense is far from elite. It ranks 17th in total rushing yards per game allowed (109.7). The Cowboys are also allowing 30.7 points per game, which ranks 27th in the NFL.
With Jacobs healthy and ready to play, the Packers will have the opportunity to take full advantage of that weakness. However, other injuries may limit their success.

Offensive tackles Zach Tom and Anthony Belton are both listed as out, and offensive guard Aaron Banks is doubtful.
However, a big piece of the Packers’ game plan throughout 2025 has been to pound the rock. They have already rushed 86 timeswhich is the ninth-most in the NFL.
Even with several offensive linemen missing, Green Bay may rely on Jacobs to perform well against this Cowboys defense.
