Following the divorce, Yuzvendra Chahal gave his first major interview two months ago. He sat with Raj Shammani for a podcast, where he spoke candidly on several topics related to his personal and professional life. One of the major revelations he made was related to his divorce and the turbulent relationship with his ex-wife, Dhanashree Verma. He said they maintained a ‘normal couple’ vibe on social media, all the while figuring out their relationship.“It was going on for a long while. We decided we do not want to show the people. Who knew if it did not happen. Maybe it will become a different scenario. We were like until we reached to a point of end, we are not going to say anything. We will be like a normal couple on social media,” said Yuzvendra.He added that although there were multiple rumors of him cheating on Dhanashree, the truth was different. He claimed he is a loyal person. “When I was going through the divorce thing, people labeled me as a cheater. I have never cheated. You will not get a more loyal person than me. For my loved ones, I think from my heart. I have never asked, just given. When you don’t know, you are writing. I have two sisters, I know how to respect girls. Just because you are seen with someone, you will link up with someone and write for views. The problem is if you react once, there will be more people who will come knowing you will react,” Chahal quoted.
When Dhanashree Verma snapped at Yuzvendra Chahal for wearing the ‘Sugar Daddy’ t-shirt
Dhanashree, who is gradually finding her footing as an entertainer artist in the industry, also gave an interview to Humans of Bombay around a month ago. She also spoke about the divorce and the emotional situation that broke her heart.She said, “I still remember when I was standing there and the verdict was about to be given. Even though we were so well-prepared mentally, I got so emotional. I started howling in front of everybody. I couldn’t even express what I was feeling at that point. I just remember that I just kept crying, I was just howling and crying. Of course! All of that happened, and he (Chahal) walked out first.”
She also addressed the elephant in the room, the infamous ‘Be Your Own Sugar Daddy’ t-shirt. She reacted and said it was an uncalled-for move amid all the drama. She said, “You know that people are going to blame you. Before I had even known that this T-shirt stunt had happened, we were all aware that people were going to blame me for this. Hey brother, send me WhatsApp. Why wear a t-shirt? (You should have sent it on WhatsApp. Why wear the t-shirt?)”

In the last few days, Dhanashree and Yuzvendra have been back in the headlines, owing to the cheating claims yet again! Dhanashree, who is currently on the show ‘Rise And Fall,’ during her chat with fellow contestant Kbbra Sait, spilled a few beans when questioned, “When did you realize in your relationship that, ‘Bhai, yeh nahi chal sakta, yeh mistake ho gaya hai abhi?’ Replying to Kubra, Dhanashree said, “First year,” and then added, “caught him in the second month.”
Yuzvendra Chahal breaks the silence on Dhanashree Verma’s claims of cheating
While speaking to Hindustan Times, Yuzvendra Chahal finally broke the silence on these latest accusations. He dismissed the claims, sad they are baseless. “I am a sportsperson and I do not cheat. Agar koi two months mein hi cheat karta toh itna lamba relationship chalta kya? (If I had cheated in the two months, how would the relationship have lasted so long?) For me, this chapter is over, done, and dusted. I have moved forward with my life and everyone else should do, too,” he quoted.“Hamari shaadi 4.5 years thi. Agar two months mein cheat hua hota toh kaun continue karta? Mai pehle bhi bol chuka hun ki mai past se nikal chuka hun. But some people are still stuck there… unka ghar mere naam se chal raha hai toh they can continue doing that.(“Our marriage lasted 4.5 years. If there had been cheating in two months, who would continue? I have said before that I have moved on from the past. But some people are still stuck there… their household is being run in my name, so they can continue doing that.“) I am not concerned or affected,” he added.
He stood by his stance and said that he had forgotten this chapter of his life. The chatter will stay and the social media will blow up, but “the truth is only one, and those who matter know it. For me, the chapter is over. I don’t want to address it ever again,” he said.“I am focusing on my life and on my game,” he concluded.
