Solar Opposites is coming to an end after six seasons. The final installment drops October 13 on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+, but io9’s got a first look at the opening episode.
As becomes very quickly obvious, our beloved Shlorpians have all but completely abandoned the mission that brought them to Earth. Instead, they’re having an absolute blast hanging out in their “movie room” watching a punny Fast & Furious spin-off that only Solar Opposites could dream up.
Can Aisha, their exasperated AI, get them back on track? Or will they keep vaping their lives away, chowing down on nachos and fried rice, and misusing their diamond machine? What do you think?
“Earth rules and the homeworld can suck my big moist mound!” Korvo (voiced by Dan Stevens) declares… just as a strange creature sprouts from his head.
That cannot be good—we all remember what happened with the Red Goobler—and it feels like the Shlorpians are about to be forced into a visceral lesson about the dangers of letting your responsibilities slide.
As we learned from the season six trailer, the final Solar Opposites outing will see the aliens scrambling when they realize they’re broke, so don’t expect that diamond machine to stick around much longer past this early scene. But how are the aliens—who are all getting along for once, from the looks of it—going to fund their leisurely lifestyle without it?
