The new Marvel Studios series Wonder Man is coming in January, and we expect a lot of news later this weekend during a panel at New York Comic Con. But, ahead of that panel, the Marvel socials just dropped our first extended look at the series, and it’s all about remaking superhero shows.
In the clip, which you can see below, we watch Simon Williams (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) grow up as a fan of Wonder Man, a seemingly low-level B superhero movie. But then, later in life, a remake is planned and, well, it seems this little boy’s dreams may come true.

It all goes by pretty fast, but there are a lot of teases in there. Sir Ben Kingsley’s Trevor Slattery character, for example, is about to become the first major character from Shang-Chi to return to the MCU. Is he a mentor? A rival? Plus, it seems like this show is going to be very tongue-in-cheek about the superhero genre at large. You can see one of the projects being made is called “Cash Grab 2,” for example.
But what is the deal with Simon’s powers? And how does this all fit into the Marvel Cinematic Universe? We’ll probably find out more later this weekend when a panel is held at New York Comic Con. For now, though, did you think Wonder Man was going to be this Hollywood heavy? Are you excited to see where it goes? Let us know below.
