To promote electric vehiclesthe state govt is focusing on developing electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. As part of this initiative, Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (Dhbvn) will prioritise EV category connections. DHBVN received 360 applications, of which 250 EV charging connections have already been issued. 110 EV connections are pending within DHBVN’s jurisdiction.
Managing director of DHBVN, Ashok Kumar Garg, said the discom will prioritise EV category connections.
“Directions have been given to issue EV charging connections promptly. All officers have been directed that all pending EV category connections should be issued on top priority,” said Garg.
Garg said building electrical infrastructure for EV charging is a major priority for the govt. Oil marketing companies (OMCs) like BPCL, HPCL, and IOCL are also actively installing electric chargers at their existing petrol pumps.
He clarified that the operational guidelines for issuing EVCS category connections state that the cost of transformers and associated equipment for issuing EV charging station category connections will be borne by DHBVN.
He ordered the chief engineer to issue connections without any hindrance.
“Given the national importance of this initiative and its contribution to the EV ecosystem, such delays are not acceptable,” Garg said on the 110 pending connections.
